GLEMP for Laboratories

GLEMP is a non-profit association of industrial users who have come together to improve the way they select and monitor the performance of their contract laboratories. The members of GLEMP use a combination of shared cost on-site reviews and a routine performance evaluation program to evaluate, select, and monitor laboratories.

There are currently 21 major industrial firms participating in the GLEMP initiative, and they are requesting laboratories to participate in two performance evaluation programs a year. APG has been chosen as the sole provider for these performance evaluations.

The benefits of participating in the program include:

• Your lab receives exposure to large industrial organizations that are seeking analytical laboratory services.
• There is no cost to the laboratory for GLEMP lab reviews, and it will minimize the number of client audits.
• The ability to differentiate your lab according to quality and data defensibility (instead of just accreditation) sets you apart from the crowd.
• You will potentially reduce your cost of performance evaluations by submitting data to GLEMP and reducing the number of programs you're required to participate in.
• Your laboratory can use the GLEMP PE program to cover PT study requirements for State and NELAC accreditation, if your lab opts to do so. (Current APG clients will simply opt to submit their normal study data to GLEMP in the months of January, April, July, and October.)
