Once again Analytical Products Group, Inc. (APG), located in Belpre, Ohio, has been chosen to provide proficiency testing services to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). APG will provide various single blind samples to laboratories located throughout the world. APG will also provide the data analysis of this testing and furnish reports to the United Nation's GEM/Water Program.
Last year, APG was chosen to provide proficiency testing services for GEMS/Water Study Number 5. APG provided samples, analysis instruction, and data reporting forms in multilingual format to international laboratories. The success of that study has enabled APG to continue to support the GEMS/Water Program again this year.
The UNEP established the GEMS/Water Program to provide authoritative, scientifically-sound information regarding the state and trends of global inland water quality. Over 100 countries participate in GEMS/Water Program to support global environmental decision-making. The program is managed out of Burlington, Ontario. For further information on the GEMS/Water Program, please contact UNEP GEMS/Water Programme at gems@ec.gc.ca.
