For the last three years, APG's company-wide Christmas Party has been held on the first Saturday afternoon of December. It is a good way to get the Christmas season started, and the employees are not all booked up with other engagements that early in the season.
This year was the best Christmas Party of all. In all, about 44 adults and 25 children attended. We were fortunate enough to be able to rent a large church social room that accommodated all of the employees and their families, leaving plenty of room for the kids to run around and play.
Santa arrived with a specially-purchased gift for each child. However, Santa needed a little guidance making it in the building since there was no chimney for him to slide down. But Santa made it, and he was loved by all.
Our entertainment for the day was watching all the children playing with their gifts. Each employee was also provided with a gift in a gift exchange game. Some employees lost their pick of the gifts after another employee zeroed in on his/her most favorite item and swiped it.
After all the gifts were open and played with, a huge meal was provided. Any employee wishing to do so brought a covered dish to add to the meal. No one left the party hungry! I think most of us left the party feeling like we looked like Santa around our waistline. The best was that all the children were happy, enjoying their gifts, and the employees and families were able to relax and socialize.
This was, by far, our best Christmas Party ever.
