Stage 2 Disinfectants and
Disinfection Byproducts Rule
The Federal Register dated January 4, 2006 details the Final Rule
of 40CFR Parts 9, 141 and 142 the “National Primary Drinking Water
Regulations: Stage 2 Disinfectants and Disinfection Byproducts
Rule”. This update will change, among other things, the manner in

More Value for your PT Investment A note from Melissa McNamara, VP of Marketing
I hope everyone is getting a good start to this New Year. APG
continues to add more value to our PT Program for 2006. Your
laboratory can now purchase PT samples from APG to meet NELAC
and state accreditation PT requirements, plus meet 17025 and NELAC training requirements
for your laboratory with the same samples at no additional charge. Finally we
have given you access to the Advantage Reporting Tool to use PT data trends to
market your laboratory’s quality. If you have not used the Advantage
Reporting Tool or Advantage Training System, I would be pleased to setup
demonstration of either of these systems.

DMRQA Study 26 Brochure is available
APG is the largest DMRQA PT provider to offer the flexibility to
participate in three WP studies and a DMRQA specific study. We give the permittee the
ability to receive electronic data files from contact laboratories reducing the communication
headache for all parties. APG submits PT evaluations to contract laboratories, permittees and
DMRQA coordinators 21 days from the close of the study, allowing plenty of time to submit corrective actions
if necessary. Permittees and contract laboratories have free access to the Advantage
