"Water should not be judged by its history, but by its quality"
Dr Lucas Van Vuuren, National Institute of Water Research, South Africa

Speaking of water and quality…the Discharge Monitoring Report - Quality Assurance Study Program’s Study 27 is fast approaching.   Major and selected minor permittees under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program participate in the Discharge Monitoring Report–Quality Assurance (DMR-QA) study program. DMR-QA evaluates the analytical and reporting ability of the laboratories that routinely performing inorganic chemistry and whole-effluent toxicity self-monitoring analyses required by NPDES permits.

If you participate in DMR-QA, all of the analytes listed on your NPDES permit might not be included in the current DMR-QA study. You must report results for analytes listed in your permit, if included in the study sample lists and tables. You may voluntarily report additional study analytes not listed in your permit. For general questions about the DMR-QA program or questions about a particular study, contact your state or regional DMR-QA Coordinator.

Now for a little history about me…For the past six years, I worked as an environmental scientist in the environmental consulting fields before joining the APG team as an account executive.  Over the years, I have been working with environmental laboratories and providing consulting services for a number of different industries of which many hours were spent working on projects directly related to NPDES and DMR-QA from collecting samples to completing discharge monitoring reports and permits.

The APG team is here to help you along and ease DMR-QA time.  From our friendly relationship specialists to our technical staff, we will help you out with DMR-QA ordering and questions.  APG is here to make DMR-QA time easy.  Be on the lookout for the announcement letter posted on our website.   Do not forget about the Advantage LIMS upload that saves time during data entry and our Advantage Reporting that contains your history and allows you to track your quality over time.
