DMRQA Helpful Hints

Complete Article from Edition 4 APG eNewsletter

APG's industry leading customer service team fields many DMRQA Questions. They have compiled a helpful hints list to guide you through the DMRQA 23. Whether you select APG as your DMRQA Provider or not, APG Customer Service and Technical Chemists are available to help you. Send your questions to support@apgqa.com or give a call at 800.272.4442.

1. DMRQA Participants are labs that have NPDES Permit(s) or regularly perform testing for analytes listed on an NPDES Permit(s). Labs with NPDES Permits should have received a DMRQA Study 23 Announcement Letter (308 Letter) from the US EPA in early June.
2. Review important dates and record important information in APG's complimentary DMRQA Desk Reference Guide .
3. In many instances a single PT standard can be used to meet both DMRQA and State Requirements. Check with your DMRQA Coordinator to determine which studies are acceptable to meet State and DMRQA Requirements.
4. Verify all Permit Numbers, Lab Codes, etc. are correct in your DMRQA Announcement Letter .
5. You can download additional permittee and contract laboratory data entry forms or give us a call.
6. APG's Online Data Entry walks you through the entire DMRQA Process. It significantly reduces coordination between Contract Laboratories and Permittees. Contract Labs can prepare data reporting packages for their permittees that include all information necessary to fulfill their requirements.
7. You can report data online until 11:59:59 PM EST on the study close date. You receive an electronic copy of your data and confirmation that your data was received.
8. If you report Total Dissolved Solids, you must report your lot number on your data form. The solids lot number is located on the vial. All other lot numbers are printed on the forms for your reference. Ensure that the lot numbers of the products match the lot numbers in the data reporting booklet.
9. If you are an NPDES Permit Holder, communicate with your contract laboratory to determine when and how they will report the data. Please negotiate a date that gives you sufficient time to submit your information.
10. You are required to report data for all analytes listed on your NPDES Permit and found on the analyte checklist in the 308 Letter. Analytes not listed on your permit may be reported but must be marked as voluntary.
11. Do not forget to send a data package to your DMRQA Coordinator. It must include a copy of all your data and the US EPA Forms found in the DMRQA 23 Announcement Letter. The US EPA Forms include the completed Analyte Checklist and the Laboratory Performance Evaluation Forms. Remember to keep a copy for your records.
