Setting the Thallium Baseline in ICP-OES
Even though ICP-OES is an efficient way to determine the amount of a metal in solution, care must be taken when accounting for inter-elemental interferences. This is especially true for Thallium in which the USEPA Method 6010B recommended line has an inter-elemental interference from Vanadium.

Soils Update at APG
APG's trial Soil and Hazardous Waste study was a success, and July 2005 marks our first NELAC Soils PT program. We will expand our product offering in the October 2005 study so that we have a complete line of Organic, Inorganic, Underground Storage Tank (UST), and State Specific Soil samples by January 2006.

NYAAEL & PaAAEL Annual Convention
July 31-August 2, 2005, Valley Forge, PA
The New York and Pennsylvania Associations of Accredited Environmental Laboratories will host the 2005 Annual Convention and Exposition July 31-August 2 at The Radisson Hotel in Valley Forge, PA. This year's convention theme is Laboratory Quality & Ethical Practices. Speakers will discuss proficiency testing changes, data quality, laboratory security issues, laboratory ethics, and laboratory fraud. On August 1 from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m., APG will exhibit with approximately 30 other vendors.

11th Annual Virginia Good Lab Practice Conference
