View the revised limits for WS samples
NELAC has published the newly revised WS field-of-testing table which will allow PT providers to implement new evaluation criteria. The criteria were developed by the NELAC FOT sub-committee of the PT Board over the past year and submitted to the Board and EPA for review. These criteria, we believe, will correct several of the technical issues with the older versions and will more fairly evaluate the laboratories.
The sub-committee has recently submitted its recommended changes to the WP field-of-testing table to the PT Board and it is currently under review. There are also proposed changes to the footnotes on the RCRA field-of-testing table which will impact laboratory evaluations. It is expected that the PT Board will act on all of the recommendations quickly.
Concurrently, the sub-committee has been working on adding new analytes to the WS, WP, and RCRA tables that have been requested by States or PT providers. The committee expects to complete this work before the winter NELAC meeting.
The NELAC Fields of Testing Sub-Committee is composed of representatives from the States, private laboratories, and several PT providers including APG. Mr. Thomas Coyner is an active member of this committee.
