Understanding Total Residual Chlorine
The average failure rate on residual chlorine almost doubles above 2.5mg/L. One reason why labs
fail at the higher concentrations is the way the EPA calculates limits. Sample dilution is another
reason for not acceptable evaluations at the higher concentrations.

Laboratory of Excellence Certificate
From the
beginning of May to the end of September, laboratories assign resources, select a
provider, and submit data to demonstrate their proficiency.
For the NPDES permit holders and the laboratories involved, successful
completion of the DMRQA study requires coordination of resources and
attention to detail. At Analytical Products Group, Inc. we value the
resources that you contribute towards the successful completion of the
DMRQA study and feel that they should be rewarded. Upon successful
completion of DMRQA Study 24, APG will issue your facility a customized
certificate complete with the APG gold seal. Included on the certificate is your
facility’s name, all analytes that were successfully evaluated for DMRQA
24.

Official DMRQA Study 24 Dates
The DMRQA Announcement Letter (308 Letter) was released
from the US EPA.
Download an electronic copy now.
May 24, 2004 Send the NPDES Permittee Address Verification Form to dmrqa@epa.gov.
June 2, 2004 Orders must be placed, deadline per the US EPA.
September 3, 2004 The latest date that all DMRQA Studies must end.
October 29, 2004 Providers must release DMRQA Study Evaluations.
December 8, 2004 All corrective actions should be submitted to your state or regional coordinator.
APG is pleased to officially announce that our May WP,
June WP and July WP Studies meet the requirement of this
year's 308 Letter. Of course, we will continue to offer an
Official DMRQA Study that opens June 2 and ends on September 3, 2004.
